(Science Day)

Science is the acceptance of what works and the rejection of what does not. That needs more courage than we might think. As the Quote saying, Science day is celebrated all over India with great enthusiasm on 28th of February every year in order to commemorate the invention of the Raman Effect in India by the Indian physicist, Sir Chandrasekhar Venkata Raman on the same day in the year 1928.The basic objective of the National Science Day is to spread the message of importance of Science and its application among people.

To make it more effectual, our institution is celebrating this auspicious day in the name of SCMIT – a Mega Science Project Exhibition. From the inception, every year on Science Day, the institution is conducting SCMIT to ignite the young minds to come out with their innovations in the field of science. Students from various colleges and schools of Puducherry, Tamilnadu and southern states participate in this grand programme to exhibit their Projects. These selected projects are awarded with the cash prize of Rs. 25000/-, Rs. 15000/- and Rs.10,000/- for the top three positions.
