1. Language Test: GRE, TOEFL, IELTS

Many students are aspiring to study abroad to gain new experiences. However, before you can apply to universities, you need to take a language test to prove your fluency and communication skills.

There are three main language tests that are accepted by universities around the world: IELTS, TOEFL, and PTE. Each test has its own strengths and weaknesses, so it is important to choose the one that is right for you.

GRE (Graduate Record Examination)

GRE is a standardized test that is similar to the SAT. It tests your verbal, reasoning, quantitative, and analytical abilities. You can take courses to help you prepare for the test and improve your scores. How well you do on the GRE depends on the foreign university you want to attend. Your choice of subject does not matter. If you want to study abroad in North America or Canada, you will need to take the GRE.

TOEFL (Test of English As A Foreign Language)

TOEFL is a standardized test of English language proficiency for non-native English speakers. It is required by many universities in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, and other English-speaking countries.

The test consists of four sections: listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Each section is scored on a scale of 0 to 30, for a total possible score of 120.

Most universities consider a score of 100 or higher on the iBT or 600 or higher on the PBT to be a good score for admission.

Graduate Record Examination

IELTS (International English Language Testing System)

IELTS is a popular English language proficiency test for non-native speakers. It is accepted by many universities in the United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, and the United States. In Canada, IELTS scores are the most common language requirement for international students.

The IELTS test measures your listening, reading, writing, and speaking skills. Your overall score can range from 0 to 9, with 9 being the highest. Most Canadian universities require a minimum IELTS score of 6.

If you are planning to study in Canada, you should consider taking the IELTS test. It is a reliable and valid measure of English language proficiency, and it is accepted by most Canadian universities.

5. Budgeting: Manage Your Finance

Financial literacy is an important skill for students to have.

Indian students are taught from a young age to save money for rainy days. This is a valuable life skill that can help students to manage their finances when they are studying abroad.

When studying abroad, it is important to be mindful of the currency exchange rate. This can have a big impact on your budget. For example, if the currency exchange rate is unfavorable, you may need to adjust your budget accordingly.

Here is the current currency exchange rate between INR and some foreign currencies as of January 2023:

Here is the exchange rate between INR and some foreign currencies as of August 22, 2023:

1 US Dollar = 73.38 Indian Rupees
1 British Pound Sterling = 99.54 Indian Rupees
1 Canadian Dollar = 57.83 Indian Rupees
1 Australian Dollar = 56.91 Indian Rupees
1 Euro = 89.68 Indian Rupees

The depreciation of the Indian rupee can have a significant impact on the cost of studying abroad.

This is because the cost of tuition, accommodation, and other living expenses are often denominated in foreign currencies. When the rupee depreciates, it means that it takes more rupees to buy the same amount of foreign currency. This can make studying abroad more expensive.

6. Educational Loan:

Many students take out education loans to help pay for their studies abroad.

There are many banks that offer foreign education loans, both national and private. Our expert guidance can help you identify the right banks for your needs and get your loan approved without any hassle.
