INFRASTRUCTURE FACILITIES:

The department provides extensive computing resources for research and education.

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering has been continuously making progress in Teaching and R & D activities. The Department was started with an intake of 60 students in 2008; the sanctioned intake was increased to 120 seats in 2010. The Department focuses on preparing the students for wide range of IT careers equipping them with unique enriching experience of molding tomorrow’s technocrats with high caliber and commitment.

LABORATORIES :

The Department provides extensive computing resources for Research and Development. In addition to the general purpose file server, the Department maintains one specialized server for Linux based workstations. All the laboratories are well equipped with the latest configuration machines with original softwares. A Lot of importance is given to practical training which lays great stress on “hands on” experience besides a sound theoretical background, particularly in the latest Softwares.

Our Department has totally 7 Laboratories namely : Programming Language Laboratory, Operating System Laboratory, DBMS Laboratory, Networking Laboratory, Advanced Java laboratory , Open Source programming Laboratory, Software Engineering Laboratory, Hardware and Troubleshooting Laboratory.

PROGRAMMING LANGUAGE LABORATORY

In this lab the Students are trained in programming languages such as C, C++, VC++.

OPERATING SYSTEM LABORATORY :

In this lab, Computers are installed specifically for the state of art UNIX and LINUX operating systems. The students are encouraged to get trained in UNIX based environment and do their projects. IBM UNIX server with Red Hat Linux version 9.0 has been deployed.

DBMS LABORATORY :

Information retrieval using the Internet, knowledge discovery and financial prediction are applications of common interest of an enterprise system. Multimedia, image and video databases and geographic information systems are some of the fields actively pursued in this lab. The Students design and develop database projects on ORACLE and SQL Server 2000 also.

NETWORKING LABORATORY :

A sophisticated networking lab where students are trained in network administration, configuration, network programming, wireless and security. This lab is mainly used for Computer network programming.

ADVANCED JAVA LABORATORY :

The primary goal of Advanced Java Programming lab is to train Students in advanced Java technologies such as J2EE (Servlets, Beans), J2ME for mobile kit utilities and Struts.

OPEN SOURCE PROGRAMMING LABORATORY:

Open Source programming lab aims at imparting the objective of open source forum. Open Source programming tools are installed in the center such as Linux Operating system and PHP.

SOFTWARE ENGINEERING LABORATORY:

The objective of Software Engineering lab is to impart the Software Development Life Cycle to students, so that they are well trained in various phases of SDLC, test tools and CASE tools. Students get trained such as ARGO UML, Rational Suite for testing.
