MVIT NSS

NSS or National Service Scheme is mainly for students and is governed by Ministry of youth affairs and sports of India. It was launched in the year 1969. During that period it was being followed in 36 Universities involving more than 41000 students. It is primarily focused on the development of personality and attitude of students using community service as the motive. Today more than 3200000 students over 300 Universities participate from all over the nation. Since its initiation more than 4 crore students from universities from Kashmir to Kanyakumari have taken part in NSS activities.

This scheme is useful in providing an insight to students for understanding the community and provides them a chance to know the base reality of the live hood of people from various sectors For eg. a student from a city gets a chance to see and understand the living standards and difficulties faced by them. It also helps in improving the social responsibilities of a student towards the society and the role they need to play to uplift it through community service. NSS aims at arousing social consciousness of the youth with an overall objective of personality development through community service. NSS enables students to participate in various program of social service and national development, and to help the community.

  • Vijaya Prasath.R and Dr. Sridevi. S , NSS Coordinators of MVIT, organized a Seven Days Special Camp at Kalmandabam, Puducherry, from 5th to 11th January 2018
  • Various Students activities and Events at Kalmandabam during a Seven Days Special Camp organized by NSS Cell of MVIT
  • The National Service Scheme Cell of MVIT organized an International Childhood and Breast Cancer Awareness Rally at Puducherry. The Rally was inaugurated by Lt. Governor Kiren Bedi, Puducherry on 4th February 2018
  • The NSS Students of MVIT Mr. Venkataboopathy of Third Year Mechanical & Ms. Niranjani of Second Year EEE, attended a Seven Days National Integration Camp at Hassan, Karnataka from 25th to 31st January 2018.
  • The NSS Cell of MVIT organized a Blood donation Camp in the Month of January 2018
  • The Electoral Department of Puducherry initiated a Electoral Literacy Club at MVIT on 26th September 2017. The Students Mr. Shyam Prasad of Second Year EEE & Mr. Edwin of Second Year Mechanical received an Inauguration Board from Electoral Department of Puducherry. Besides this NSS Cell prepared and submitted Voters documents to the election Department and received students’ voters Identity Cards.
