About SAEINDIA
SAEINDIA is a professional body that promotes mobility engineering and interdisciplinary technical development by connecting academia with industry. It supports Outcome-Based Education (OBE) by enabling students to apply theoretical knowledge in design, analysis, and real-world engineering problems.
Through collegiate clubs, competitionsand technical activities. SAEINDIA enhances practical skills, innovation, teamwork and professional competence thereby improving studentsindustry readiness and employability.
SAEINDIA Collegiate Club – MVIT
The SAEINDIA Collegiate Club at Manakula Vinayagar Institute of Technology (MVIT), established in 2023, supports Outcome-Based Education (OBE) by providing a platform for hands-on learning, interdisciplinary projects and technical competitions.
With 100% student membership, the club enhances key Program Outcomes (POs) such as engineering knowledge, design and development, experimentation, teamworkand modern tool usage, thereby bridging the gap between academic learning and industry requirements.

To develop competent and innovative engineers by fostering technical excellence, interdisciplinary skills, and industry readiness through active participation in SAEINDIA activities.

National Level Student Convention (NLSC) – 2025 & 2026
Manakula Vinayagar Institute of Technology (MVIT) proudly hosted the prestigious National Level Student Convention (NLSC) organized by SAEINDIA for consecutive years 2025 and 2026, marking a significant achievement in promoting technical excellence and innovation.
The successful organization of NLSC 2025 and 2026 reflects the institution’s commitment to Outcome-Based Education (OBE) by enhancing students’ skills in design, development, teamwork and problem-solving, while improving their industry readiness and professional competence.
2023
Activities & Participation
- Inauguration of the SAEINDIA Collegiate Club on 12th May 2023 at Manakula Vinayagar Institute of Technology (MVIT)
- A guest lecture on “Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure” was organized on 12th May 2023, delivered by Anantharaman Prakash, Vice President – Product Engineering, Renault Nissan Technology & Business Centre India, Chennai
- A guest lecture on “How to Plan for Start-up and Legal & Ethical Steps” was conducted on 12th May 2023, delivered by S. Shanmugam, Managing Director, Design Desk (India) Pvt. Ltd. and Past Chairman of SAEISS .
- The Department of Robotics and Automation, in collaboration with SAEINDIA, organized a problem-solving and ideation workshop, which included a guest lecture titled ‘Practical Project Management: My Reflection’ by G. Muthukumar, Deputy General Manager of Program Management at Mahindra Research Valley, Mahindra & Mahindra, held on October 13, 2023.
- Students from the Departments of Robotics & Automation and Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE) participated in the SAEINDIA Student Convention Tier–I Competition held at MVIT on 28th October 2023
- Second- and third-year students participated in a Drone Controller Development Workshop organized by SAEINDIA at SRM University, Chennai, on 4th November 2023
2024
Activities & Achievements
- Secondand third-year students of the Department of Robotics and Automation secured First Place in both:
- Mobile Robotics (MRB) Mobile App Development (MAP) at the SAEINDIA Student Convention Tier–II Competition, held at IIITDM Kanchipuram on 27th January 2024
- The students further secured Third Place in both:
- Mobile Robotics (MRB)
Mobile App Development (MAP)
at the SAEINDIA Student Convention Tier–III Competition, conducted at Chennai Institute of Technology Chennai on 15th March 2024
- Second and third-year students of Robotics and Automation actively participated in a Drone Controller Development Workshop, hosted by SAE INDIA at Industrial Estate, Chennai, on 21/04/2024.
- Final-year students of the Department of Robotics and Automation undertook an industrial visit to Rane (Madras) Ltd., Chennai, organized by SAEISS on 13th September 2024.

Activities & Participation
- Manakula Vinayagar Institute of Technology (MVIT) successfully hosted the SAEINDIA Student Convention (EnE) on 24th January 2025, organized by SAEINDIA Southern Section (SAEISS). The event brought together engineering students from various institutions to participate in technical competitions and showcase innovative projects.
- The convention featured competitions in:
- Internet of Things (IoT)
- Mobile Applications Development (MAP)
- Mobile Robotics (MRB)
- Python Programming (PYP)
- Second, thirdand final-year students of the Department of Robotics and Automation participated in the 4th Edition Autonomous Drone Development Challenge (ADDC) 2025–26 Workshop, organized by SAEINDIA at K.S. Rangasamy College of Technology on 19th & 20th September 2025.

Activities & Achievements
- Manakula Vinayagar Institute of Technology (MVIT) successfully hosted the National Level Student Convention (NLSC) 2026, organized by SAEINDIA, on 28th March 2026 at Kalitheerthalkuppam, Puducherry.
- The convention featured technical events across three major domains:
- Manufacturing
- Computer-Aided Manufacturing
- Welding Technologies
- Sheet Metal Forming
- Electrical & Electronics
- Mobile Robotics
- Internet of Things (IoT)
- Software Programming
- Mobile App Development Competition
- Python Programming Competition
- The event witnessed active participation from approximately 150 students, along with faculty advisors from various institutions, across the SAEINDIA Southern Section.
- Around 15 industry experts, along with members of the SAEINDIA Southern Section, served as judges, ensuring high standards of evaluation and technical excellence.
- The convention provided a platform for students to demonstrate innovative design, technical problem-solving, interdisciplinary collaboration, and practical implementation skills, aligning with Outcome-Based Education (OBE) objectives.
