The Department of Information Technology was established in the year 2008 with the objective of imparting knowledge in cutting-edge technologies in Information Technology. The Department has a team of dynamic, young and dedicated staff, with specialization in wide array of areas. The Department has well equipped laboratories with 120 Computer Systems with facilities that are vital to train the students in state-of-art software and hardware. The Department always strives to reach the latest technology and advancement in this field to the young learners as well as aspirants by inviting the corporate legends and experienced academicians to enlighten the IT community of our institution.

Graduates of Information Technology will

PEO1: Engineering acquaintance: Graduates will apply the knowledge of mathematics, computations, engineering and technology to solve the complex engineering and societal relevant problems.

PEO2: Excel in Career: Graduates will have the technical competency with ethical values to excel in their career thereby meeting the requirements of the IT sector.

PEO3: Life-long learning: Graduates will participate in life-long learning through the successful completion of advanced degrees, continuing education and other professional developments.

PEO4: Leadership: Graduates will have the ability to exhibit their leadership quality and create job opportunities.

Program Outcomes (PO)

PO1: Engineering knowledge: Apply the knowledge of Mathematics, Science, Engineering fundamentals, and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems.

PO2: Problem analysis: Identify, formulate, research literature, and analyze complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering sciences.

PO3: Design/development of solutions: Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for the public health and safety, and the cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.

PO4: Conduct investigations of complex problems: Use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions.

PO5: Modern tool usage: Create, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools including prediction and modelling to complex engineering activities with an understanding of the limitations.

PO6: The Engineer and Society Apply reasoning informed by the contextual knowledge to assess societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to the professional engineering practice.

PO7: Environment and sustainability: Understand the impact of the professional engineering solutions in societal and environmental contexts, and demonstrate the knowledge of, and need for sustainable development.

PO8: Ethics: Apply ethical principles and commit to professional ethics and responsibilities and norms of the engineering practice.

PO9: Individual and team work: Function effectively as an individual, and as a member or leader in diverse teams, and in multidisciplinary settings.

PO10: Communication: Communicate effectively on complex engineering activities with the engineering community and with society at large, such as, being able to comprehend and write effective reports and design documentation, make effective presentations, and give and receive clear instructions.

Program Specific Outcomes (PSO)

PSO1: Products Development: : Ability to apply mathematical methodologies to solve computation task, model real world problem using appropriate data structure and suitable algorithm.

PSO2: Design Thinking: Ability to use knowledge in various domains to identify research gaps and solve complex problems, using latest hardware and software tools, along with analytical skills to arrive cost effective and appropriate solutions.

Faculty

Our Department faculty is very dedicative and cooperative in completing all works successfully with a team spirit. They got the desire to impart high quality education to students with practical exposure as per the industry expectations. The faculty members have rich set of knowledge in research areas like Wireless Adhoc and Sensor Networks, Network Security, Cloud Computing, Network Security and Natural Language Processing.

Infrastructure

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering has been continuously making progress in Teaching and R & D activities. The Department was started with an intake of 60 students in 2008; the sanctioned intake was increased to 120 seats in 2010. The Department focuses on preparing the students for wide range of IT careers equipping them with unique enriching experience of molding tomorrow’s technocrats with high caliber and commitment.
