Research Polices
- The institution shall establish a dedicated Research and Development (R&D) Cell to foster a culture of research, innovation, and interdisciplinary collaboration among faculty, staff, and students, aligned with the institution’s vision and national research priorities.
- Faculty and students will be encouraged and supported to undertake quality research through seed grants, access to laboratories, institutional support for funding proposals, and incentives for publishing in reputed peer-reviewed journals and presenting at recognized conferences.
- The R&D Cell will facilitate national and international collaborations, including Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with research organizations, industries, and academic institutions to promote joint research, consultancy, and technology transfer.
- To support research funding, the cell will maintain an up-to-date database of funding agencies and calls for proposals, and assist researchers in proposal preparation, budgeting, documentation, and submission, while monitoring the progress and compliance of ongoing funded projects.
- An Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) Cell will be formed under the R&D Cell to assist in patent filing, protection of innovations, copyrights, trademarks, and commercialization of research outcomes, ensuring the researcher’s and institution’s rights are protected.
- Research ethics and academic integrity will be upheld through a strict anti-plagiarism policy, in accordance with UGC/AICTE/NAAC norms, mandating plagiarism checks using authorized software, and disallowing publication or submission of research that exceeds the acceptable similarity index.
- Any form of research misconduct, including data fabrication, falsification, plagiarism, ghostwriting, duplicate publication, and unethical authorship claims, shall be strictly prohibited; violations will be reviewed by a Research Misconduct Committee and may lead to disciplinary action including revocation of recognition, funding withdrawal, or institutional penalties.
- Capacity-building programs such as workshops, training sessions, faculty development programs, and guest lectures will be conducted regularly to enhance research skills, promote research methodology, scientific writing, and awareness of ethics and IPR regulations.
- A robust publication policy shall be implemented to promote quality over quantity, encouraging researchers to target Scopus-indexed, Web of Science, or UGC CARE-listed journals, and discouraging publication in predatory or unverified journals; incentives shall be tied to publication quality metrics.
- The R&D Cell shall conduct periodic reviews, maintain an institutional repository of research outputs, publish an annual research report, and present achievements for institutional benchmarking, while continually updating the research policy every three years to reflect emerging trends and compliance standards.
1. Research Environment and Culture
2. Research Ethics and Integrity
3. Act of Plagiarism
Plagiarism in any form is strictly prohibited. All research outputs—theses, dissertations, project reports, publications—must be subjected to plagiarism detection using authorized software. The institution follows UGC (Promotion of Academic Integrity and Prevention of Plagiarism in Higher Educational Institutions) Regulations, 2018, which define the following levels of plagiarism:
- Level 0 (≤10%) – Minor similarities; no disciplinary action.
- Level 1 (10–40%) – Required to revise the document.
- Level 2 (40–60%) – Debarred from submitting the work for 1 year.
- Level 3 (>60%) – Cancellation of registration or withdrawal of the degree.
Both students and faculty are subject to these regulations. Repeat offenders will face more severe penalties, including withdrawal of research privileges, funding, and recognition.
4. Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) and Commercialization
5. Research Funding and Project Management
Faculty members are encouraged to apply for research funding from external and internal sources. The R&D Cell offers technical and administrative support for proposal preparation, budgeting, compliance, and timely reporting of ongoing research projects.
6. Publication and Dissemination
7. Support for Research Scholars
Ph.D. and postgraduate research scholars must comply with the academic and research requirements defined by the institution and UGC. Coursework, regular progress reports, and plagiarism-free thesis submission are mandatory.
8. Student Research Initiatives
Students at UG and PG levels are encouraged to participate in research through project-based learning, internships, and competitions. Foundation courses in research are required for postgraduate students to foster inquiry beyond their specialization.
9. Recognition and Incentives
The institution rewards excellence in research through annual awards for Best Researcher and Best Student Researcher, travel grants for conferences, and financial incentives for patents and publications in high-impact journals.
10. Conflict of Interest and Transparency
All researchers must disclose any personal or financial interests that may compromise the objectivity or integrity of their research. The institution maintains strict guidelines to manage and resolve any potential conflicts.
