Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC)
Introduction
University Grants Commission has given the XII plan guidelines for establishment and monitoring of the Internal Quality Assurance Cells (IQACs) In Colleges (2012 – 2017). National Academic Accreditation Council (NAAC) instills the necessity of an internal mechanism within a Higher Education Institution for sustenance, assurance and enhancement of the quality culture of education imparted, by it. By following the guidelines released by UGC the Institute has established its Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) on July 2015 during the Academic year 2015-16. Moreover, such institutional internal quality system has been made mandatory by UGC and NAAC for ensuring quality enhancement and continual improvement. This in turn would make the Institute eligible for undertaking funded educational and Infrastructural developments, for the benefit of the Teaching and learning community.
Vision of IQAC
To institutionalize the quality assurance culture by evolving, enhancing and sustaining excellence in academics/co-curricular/research/extension activities and to catalyze it through regular evaluation.
Mission of IQAC
- Setting quality benchmarks, monitor and accelerate the process of attainment of outcomes
- Developing/enhancing the co-curricular initiatives/activities among students and facilitate its systematic implementation
- Promoting research culture among the faculty and students
Functions of IQAC
- Development and application of quality benchmarks/parameters for the various academic and administrative activities of the College
- Facilitating the creation of a learner-centric environment conducive for quality education
- Enabling faculty to adopt the required knowledge and technology for participatory teaching and learning process
- Arrangement for feedback responses from students, parents and other stakeholders on quality- related institutional processes
- Dissemination of information on the various quality parameters of higher education
- Organization of inter and intra institutional workshops, seminars on quality related themes and promotion of quality circles
- Documentation of the various programmes/activities of the College, leading to quality improvement
- Development and maintenance of institutional database for the purpose of maintaining / enhancing the institutional quality;
- Development of the Annual Quality Assurance Report (AQAR)

To ensure efficient functioning of IQAC, coordinator of the IQAC interacts with various functionaries and appraises the Chairman of IQAC regularly about the progress. IQAC meets twice in a year and record its deliberation and offer suggestions for improvement in academic / administrative functions.
