He is an alumnus of Pondicherry Engineering College with B.E Mechanical Engg (1989) from University of Madras, M.Tech. Energy Tech (1997) and Ph.D. Energy & Environmental Engg (2011) from Pondicherry University. He has more than 33 years of teaching experience in various Engineering colleges viz. Pondicherry Engineering College, Bharathiyar College of Engg. & Technology, Sri Manakula Vinayagar Engg. College, Mailam Engg College and in sugar industry for an year
